Rita is an associate at BMA.
Rita completed her Law degree at Universidade de Coimbra in 2016 and obtained a Master’s degree in Corporate and Business Law from Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Centro Regional Porto (2018).
In pursuit of further specialisation, she completed postgraduate courses in Personal Data Protection Law (2019), Intellectual Property Law (2020) and Law and Technology (2021), all at Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Católica Portuguesa – Centro Regional Porto.
Rita has developed her practice with a particular focus on privacy and data protection, having conducted GDPR audits and supported the implementation of GDPR compliance programmes in both public and private entities across a wide range of sectors. She has served as Data Protection Officer for a healthcare institution and a local authority, and has also provided support to DPOs across various industries.
She also has experience in cybersecurity, working with recent regulatory frameworks, including NIS2 and DORA.
To enhance the quality of her training delivery, she obtained the Certificate of Pedagogical Competence (CCP No. F733501/2022) in 2022.
She is currently Chapter Chair of Connect Communities by OneTrust Lisbon (2021–present).
