Rita is an associate at BMA.
She finished her Law degree at Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa in 2003 and was admitted to the Portuguese Bar Association in 2005. In 2008 she completed a postgraduate degree in Industrial Property Law from the Associação Portuguesa de Direito Intelectual / Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa. In 2014 she completed a postgraduate degree in Law and Managment at Nova School of Business and Economics.
Rita has over 15 years of experience in intellectual property, advising clients on trade marks, designs and copyright, as well as representing them in related litigation.
She worked as a lawyer and industrial property consultant at Simões, Garcia, Corte-Real & Associados from 2008 to 2020, and at J.E. Dias Costa from 2022 to 2026.
Between 2020 and 2022, she served as General Counsel at Laserperformance and Maclaren, where she provided legal advice across the group, particularly in the areas of intellectual property, compliance, corporate law and procurement.
She has been an Official IP Attorney and a Professional Representative before the EUIPO since 2012.
Rita is a member of ACPI, AIPPI and ECTA.
