Patrícia Dias Mendes

Patricia is a counsel at BMA.

 

Patrícia Dias Mendes finished her law degree at Universidade Lusíada in 1998 and has been a member of the Portuguese Bar Association since 2001. She subsequently completed Post-Graduate Degrees in Consumer Law (Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa), Media Law (Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Lisboa), Corporate and Commercial Law (Faculdade de Direito da Universidade Católica Portuguesa), “Fundamentals of Mergers and Acquisitions” (Institute of Mergers, Acquisitions and Alliances, Austria, 2008) and Culture and Cultural Heritage Law (Faculdade de Direito da Universidade de Direito de Lisboa). 

Patrícia started her professional traineeship in 1998 at PLMJ - Sociedade de Advogados, SP, RL, where she practised law for about 22 years until the end of 2020. In 2021 she decided to set up her own law firm.  For almost a decade, she was Managing Director of the PLMJ Foundation (always in parallel with practising law at PLMJ), a non-profit organisation set up by PLMJ, dedicated to the promotion and dissemination of lusophone culture, mainly focusing on contemporary art.

She has been developing her practice in the areas of business law, commercial law, corporate law and M&A, consumer law, intellectual property law (primarily copyright in its Art & Law area), social economy law and cultural heritage law.
