We are delighted to welcome Rita Ferreira Ramos to BMA’s Privacy Department.
Rita holds a strong academic and professional background in data protection, privacy, and technology law. She holds a Law degree from the University of Coimbra and a Master’s in Corporate and Business Law from Católica Porto. She has further strengthened her expertise through several postgraduate programmes in Personal Data Protection Law, Intellectual Property Law, and Law and Technology.
Her practice is primarily focused on privacy and data protection, with extensive experience conducting GDPR audits and supporting the implementation of compliance programmes across both public and private sectors. Rita has also served as Data Protection Officer for a healthcare institution and a local authority, and has supported DPOs across a variety of industries.
In addition, she brings valuable experience in cybersecurity, including work related to recent regulatory frameworks such as NIS2 and DORA.
Rita is an active contributor to the privacy community, currently serving as Chapter Chair of Connect Communities by OneTrust Lisbon, and is the author and co-author of several publications in the areas of data protection, public administration, and technology.
