Margarida Vaz and Petra Fernandes, partners at BMA, will participate as speakers at the 2026 FCCN Conference, taking place on 7 May at 9:30 am, in Oporto, at FEP - Faculdade de Economia da Universidade do Porto. The session will explore key issues such as data protection in scientific projects, the impact of the NIS2 Directive and emerging cybersecurity risks.

As research becomes increasingly dependent on digital infrastructures, including high-performance computing (HPC) and supercomputing, compliance with cybersecurity and data protection requirements is a shared responsibility between research organisations and the FCCN, which plays a key role in supporting the community and promoting knowledge through its infrastructures and repositories.
